Saint Dominic - "The reference to hounds draws on the tradition that Domingo Félix de Guzmán's mother, while pregnant with him, had a vision of a black and white dog with a torch in its mouth; wherever the dog went, it set fire to the earth. It was explained that the vision was fulfilled when Dominic and his followers went forth, clad in black and white, setting fire to the earth with the Gospel. In English, the word hound has two further meanings that may be drawn upon. A hound is loyal, and the Dominicans have a reputation as obedient servants of the faith. Pun that Dominicans were the Domini canes, or Hounds of the Lord."
São Domingos - Conta a lenda que a mãe de São Domingos, quando estava grávida dele, teve uma visão de um cachorro preto e branco com uma tocha na boca; aonde o cão ia, ele colocava fogo na terra. Esta visão teria se tornado realidade quando Domingos e seus seguidores, vestidos de preto e branco, "colocaram fogo na Terra" pregando o Evangelho.

Sanctuary of St John of Matha, St Felix of Valois and St Ivan - Statue depicting Ivan (John of Rila?), and French saints John of Matha (1160-1213, canonized in 1665) and Felix of Valois (1127-1212, canonized by Pope Urban IV in 1262), founders of the Trinitarian Order, both dedicated to save Christian turned into slaves by the Turkish.
"The most popular bridge statue and also the most capacious and expensive one. It was built in honour of two founders of the Trinitarian Order, the Order taking care of buying out and gaining Christians from unbeliever's power. The pedestal of the statue is formed by a cave, in which three chained Christians ask God for salvation. On the side of the cave window a Turk is on guard – this is one of the most famous Prague plastics. St. Felix holds the cartouche with one hand while presenting the other hand to a liberated Christian. Above the Turk the figure of St. John of Matha with a deer, whose vision prompted foundation of the Order. Then St. Ivan kneels above St. Felix." source
Santuário de São João da Matha, São Félix de Valois e Santo Ivan - Estátua de Ivan João de Rila ?) e dos santos franceses que fundaram a Ordem dos Trinitários: João da Matha (1160-1213, canonizado em 1665) e Felix de Valois (1127-1212, canonizado pelo Papa Urbano IV em 1262), dedicada a salvar os cristãos capturados e feitos escravos pelos turcos. A escultura mostra justamente os três santos em pleno resgate de cristãos cativos, sob o olhar de um guarda turco e de seu cão — São João está em pé, ao lado de um cervo; ao seu lado, São Félix e na frente está São Félix, segurando a mão de um captivo. Há um total de 30 monumentos em homenagem a santos na histórica Ponte Carlos (Karluv Most), que atravessa o rio Moldava, em Praga, República Tcheca.
